regular ectopic beats

Hi im new here,just a few questions.i use Lanacane for itchiness on my arms.i used quite a bit the other day and I thought I had overdosed on it tbh.my heart suddenly started doing the ectopic beats quite regular.so I went to a &e.they said as the lanacane cream is an anesthetic it was probably what caused it,i had an ecg which was all clear,and I am now waiting for a blood test and a holter monitor to be fitted for 24 hours.the doctor said the beats were harmless but I forgot to mention that I have them most of the day,anyone else have them full time? my bp is fine 120/68 the doc asked me if I wanted bisopropol but I thought that slowed the heart rate down and lowered blood pressure, thought I may pass out if my bp goes any lower.advice please as im panicking a bit now as my appointment for the monitor isn't til may !!

Ectopic beats are generally benign and everybody gets them even healthy people. Only when they become troublesome or one becomes very aware of one's heart do we notice. In terms of ectopic burden are we talking every other beat or five or six an hour? Many of us here have had them for many months at a time. Anxiety only makes them worse. They are seldom treated by the way and IMHO beta blockers may well exacerbate the problem. Slow deep breathing often terminates ectopic clusters.

more like 5/6 an hour,i used to get the odd one but they have become more regular now which worried me,all the comments on here have put my mid at rest,we shall see what the monitor says and the blood tests,thanks for the info.

I'd think many here would love that " burden" !
