Finally cardioverted

Well after been out of rhythm for over 3 and a half months from after a failed ablation I was waiting for an appointment to be cardioverted at the manor.

I got a appointment to have an echo on the friday then on the thursday something felt weird, only for a second but then over that day I was more out breath and then on the friday I notice was even worse . So I went to a&e and I had a fast heart rate as well being in AF . So they out me on some drug to slow heart rate but that knocked me about then they cardioverted me and kept me overnight.

Let me out next dinner time as happy to say heart rate averages between 60 to 110.

But the nights are a killer struggle to sleep get shortness breathe, panting . Panic and stand up and this is 3 nights so far I'm wondering if it's my heart adjusting and the healing of my chest as never been this bad for sleep and I've been cardioverted 6 times to be put back and twice with ablation..

When you say that your heart rate is averaging at 60-110 is that when resting?

Yes and every time it gets better I check with an wahoo . At moment is 65 to 95 while resting . Not doing any exercise other than walking now and then.

I've had AF for 15 years, been hospitalised many times with a fast heart rate, have had 3 ablations and numerous cardioversions.

Your heart rate should be more or less consistent if you are just sat relaxing and not watching anything too exciting on t.v. I'm in constant AF, have been for weeks now and my pulse varies between 75 & 110. Makes me tired and lethargic. If I try to do anything that requires effort it makes me feel breathless and ill. Your heart rate doesn't have to be going fast to be in AF.

What is your heart doing when you lie in bed, have you checked?
