It is now 6 weeks and I can say I am still in sinus rhythm the only problems it has left me with is left sided heart failure and high blood pressure which hasn't stabilised and is consistently high.
I am really happy to be in sinus rhythm but now face an uphill battle to understand the heart failure.

I did have high blood pressure but it was well controlled, but not left sided heart failure but it arose after my AV node ablation and pacemaker. My EP doesn't want to do more at this moment. He said if I lose the excess weight and get back exercising it will adjust itself as it is not true heart failure, just symptomatic. What do I know I am way out of my depth now. Still it will be a long journey after three years. I may not be successful.
Thanks for your reply. I recently sent a support letter to the UK National Screening Committee consultation on Atrial Fibrilation to ask government to screen for AF at an earlier stage. Looking back this AF was evident for me in 2002 and if it had been addressed properly I would not be in the position I am now. I will update here when I have more information.
Really sorry that after all your waiting and the problems you have faced you now have this to contend with too. What your EP says is promising, but it still isn't easy for you. Sending my best wishes.
