Is this Atrial Flutter?

Hello

Over the last year, I've occasionally been experiencing a new arrhythmia.

- it only happens lying down in bed in the evening

- it's very, very rapid, I'm guessing 4-5 "beats"(probably wrong word) PER SECOND,

- very light, regular in pattern (like a machine-gun),

- doesn't affect how I feel, doesn't hurt or have any affect on me (but I am lying down).

- it goes after 10-20 minutes

- it's never happened during the day or whilst standing or sitting, just at night when I lie down.

Is this atrial flutter? Dr Google seems to think so. Never had this arrhythmia so just wondering. I've looked at example ECG's online and the chart of flutter looks like what I'm feeling.

I think I'll book myself in for a review with my cardio, but just wondering in the meantime what others who've had the same might think.

It sounds a strong possibility, that's how I feel in flutter. It will show up on an ecg as a sawtooth pattern. One comfort, the ablation success for flutter is very high,if you need it done xx

Yes, that's exactly how it feels, a sawtooth pattern. I can't catch it on my Kardia as it happens so infrequently. Sometimes it's maybe 3 times a week, then I've just gone a month or more with nothing.

Interesting about ablation, I've had them for fibrillation but not flutter, so seems I might have that to come.

Thanks for reply.
