Too much warfarin.. urgent please

I am changing from apixaban temporarily and accidentally took 3mg of warfarin at 6 p.m. last night. When I took my other tablets at 7 a.m. this morning I accidentally took another 3 mg warfarin tablet as well. What should I eat to counteract the effect of too much warfarin please?

Don't worry nothing bad will happen. Just don't take tonight's tablet and then return tio normal routine tomorrow. You are not the first and darned sure won't be the last to do this.

I do sympathise.

One day recently I missed a whole set of tablets including my Warfarin. I am fine.

If you haven’t already got one, get a daily pill box it does help then you will know if you have taken your tablets.

Just do what Bob has told you and relax.

This forum is so reassuring. I do have a pill box but as my initial warfarin doses will probably be changing until I reach 2.5 I didn't use it. Silly me.

I wouldnt worry too much but you can eat foods high in vitamin K, that will counteract some of the warfarin effect. Green leafy veggies are high in vitamin K. ( kale, spinach , broccoli, etc) Know that Vit K has no affect on the new anticoagulants such as apixaban.

Thanks Hoski. Don't feel like eating too much as having a reaction to the carbamazepine for the trigeminal neuralgia. At least it has taken the pain away.
