Going to see my consultant Thursday to see what's happening next. Been in af since August. Tabs seem to be keeping it down to 100 or below. I have had 2 cardioversion's. Went back into af after a week. Feel terrible out of breath going upstairs and dog walking. Fingers crossed for Thursday.. Not keen on ablation

Sorry for delay in getting back to you, been away.

Have you researched the effects of amiodarone?

Very potent drug not nice at all?

Hi. No not researched amiodarone. Best I don't. I have put on weight since being on my cocktail of drugs. But of course I'm less active at moment. Had eye test last Saturday I have the start of cataracts that only seemed to start after starting tabs in August.

I have a customer at work who swears amiodarone works for him best.

Good luck x

Amiodarone may well work for some but it only recommended for short term use and is supposed to be a drug of 'last resort'. I would suggest that you do research ths drug, may be by putting in the search box on this page. I know that doctors do not explain the drugs effects on, it does not have side effects, it has effects, and many have had their life made worse by taking it.

I had OHS in Jan 2016, came out with Afib, never had before. Put on amiodarone until May 2016. Messed up my thyroid and now on tablets for life. Never explained to me, just prescribed it. Had cardioversion in Nov 2016 which worked and thank God is still working. My thoughts, might have been reasonable to doctor to have tried that before amiodarone. Also now have prostrate cancer which I wonder if was helped along by amiodarone.

Please at least check this drug out but it is up to you. It is your life.
