My cardiologist wanted me to have a CT scan before giving me Flecainide. Just spoken to her secretary and found out that she does not want me to have it. I don’t know why. Have to wait for letter to GP to find out. Any ideas. Feeling a bit anxious.

Flecainide
If you have any cardiac artery problems then flecianide is not a great idea.
I started Flecianide in August following an echocardiogram which confirmed heart was physically fine. Initially thought the Flecainide was really good, however some 4 months later had Flutter which went into a dangerous arythmia when standing, had a cardioversion to get me back into NSR. Cardiologist said he thought the Flecainide had caused it. I would say Flecainide works for some and can be a danger to others, looks like your Dr is on top of his game.
That sounds scary, glad you are OK.
Thank you, it was at the time, but funny now as I remember the crash team arriving within 2 minutes trying to put pads/stickers on me and I was puling them off as soon as they could attach them saying I am not in cardiac arrest. Now been for first ablation which confirmed I do not suffer with flutter (the flutter I had was caused by the Flecainide). I have MAT which could not be fully ablated so I have to continue with the drugs. Doc says MAT is not life threatening but is a great inconvenience which should be controlled by drugs - we will see.
Been on Flecianide for approx 14 years, best drug so far for my PAF. We are all different so possibly not for you and there are always new drugs which might be even better. Do not get stressed about it.
