Has anyone here been able to stop blood thinners after ablation?

Blood Thinners and Ablation
People with AF are generally needing to be on anticoagulants for life,as Af can come back without warning or without recognisable symptoms. The result, open to AF stroke.Worst kind.
Some people with zero Chadsvac score might be ok but be advised by your medics! Xx
Thanks. Was hoping to get off it because causing much hair loss.
What meds are you using? I think only Wafarin causes hair loss so why not consider changing to one of the newer anticoagulants? (using the phrase ‘blood thinner’ is not encouraged as we do need to look after BobD’s stress level)
I use Xarelto. Hard to pin down whether it is the Xarelto, Lisinopril, Metoprolol, or Flecainide that is causing it, but is thinning badly.
I started on Apixaban, then Dabigatran and now Rivaroxaban and although it it is not listed in the side effects, all three certainly cause hair loss. It does not effect everybody. Mine is bad, but what choice do I have? It is better than having a stroke.

Yes I came off A/C after my ablations.
My EP appears to following the NICE guidelines (stoke risk versus bleed risk). As I am 58 and with Chads2vasc of zero I came off the Pradaxa. I was only on the Pradaxa for the ablation in any case.
Note however that here is a lot of discussion currently on ablations and risk of stroke remaining, with some recent survey/trial supporting this view.
Yes...three months to the day. 63 years of age, male but scored 0 on the Chadvasc (or whatever its called) on all other factors. In fact my Consultant said that if I remained fit and healthy in all other respects would not be likely to go back onto Rivaroxaban etc until 75!
Important thing though he sets great store by the Kardia, so if any hint AF back then PiP and see him straightaway.
I am on rivaroxaban Losartan bisoprolol levythyroxine pravastatin and for months and months my hair has been thinning so much even landing on the pillow at night as well as masses on my hairbrush. I thought it was the tablets or one of them. After complaining to my gp many times he did blood test them put me on a course of zinc. Three months later much better My hair still hasn’t regained its previous thickness but touch wood no longer shedding as much as it did. Good luck.
