It’s some years since I have taken Warfarin but I’m not aware of it making me feel dizzy. Have you been taking any different medication for your tummy as this might account for the change in your INR and possibly your dizziness. I see you had an ablation around a year ago, is everything OK such as heart rate and blood pressure etc. If your INR continues to fluctuate, maybe you should consider changing to a DOAC.
My inr went up as I couldn't eat for three days, but the doctor said there was no need to change any of my meds. I have stayed on Warfarin as it has the reversal Vit K. I needed to go into A and E after a dental implant wouldn' t stop bleeding and Vit K worked so quickly I was very reassured I had that to fall back on in an emergency.
I suppose I should look into the newer drugs but am not sure they would be as safe.
Dulcimer
I am on warfarin and have been for the past 15/16 years. I have had an odd time or two when my INR has been elevated but did not experience any symptoms.
Possibly this is the after effects of tummy bug...they can really knock you out with mineral depletion etc
My INR once went up to 6. something. I didn't feel any different from being at a lower range. I would guess you are still feeling odd from the stomach bug.
If you haven't been eating much, or had a lot of sickness/diarrhoea, you are probably quite "empty" which would account for the dizzyness......I get dizzy/lightheaded quite quickly if I miss a meal..........but its not down to the Warfarin (been taking it for 5 years)....its lack of food!!
Mine once went up to 10 I woke in the night with tight wrists and swelling of arms and purple circles on my tummy
Off to hospital for vitamin K and fresh frozen plasma and I got better soon but never felt dizzy so I agree with others it was probably not eating enough
