**JUST about everyone here... I take 300 MG's when needed.

Yes I have used this remedy for 20+ years and >90% of the time it works.

However the correct PIP dose varies between patients, you must be guided by your EP on what is right for you.

The one thing to be borne in mind is that whilst Flecainide PIP is effective the after effects of what is an overdose are sometimes pretty awful with nausea and a feeling of your body feeling very heavy. These effects can last for 24-36 hours.

Thanks dear for your prompt reply

But what is the dose?

You must get your EP to set the dose.

Do not just follow what others may be using as PIP. Flecainide is a very potent medication.

Your not kidding Pete! I had to have a CT angiogram scan before my Cardiologist would consider it as he said that it would be dangerous to use it if I had any other heart issues Turns out I had some plaque in one of my arteries and he would not prescribe it Not a drug to mess around with😑

I take 150mgs when I need it.

This is my point.

RiderontheStorm takes 300Mg

Jay10 takes 150Mg

I take 200M.........but as I take Flecainide daily 100 Mg x 2 I have to be very aware that 300Mg is the upper limit in 24 hours. I therefore do not take to next planned dose.

It must depend on body weight too and that is why I am saying do not follow another person's doses as they may not be appropriate for you.

Despite PIP being effective for me, whilst being pleased to be back in NSR I feel awful for about 24 -36 hours.

Beware

That is so true. Whenever I take Flec I have a body heavy tired hang over for 24-48 hours... Ugh.

I personally have found it a little inconsistent as a PIP for my paroxysmal AF. In the last four years I have used it four times, twice successful, twice not; ending up in a visit to A&E and a cardioversion both times.

We are all different when it comes to medication and its effects on us and our PAF

A few years ago I started with PIP. However my cardiologist persuaded me to take a regular dose as my trend was increasing frequency of episodes and the more AF you get the more likely you will get more; regular Flec was designed to stop these ad hoc episodes occurring, which has together with lifestyle changes been successful. So my message is monitor those episodes and any hint of an increase talk to your cardio....good luck!

I was started on 50mgs BD rather than PIP. Cardiologist -as others have said- says it's better not to go into AF in the first place. I have been on it for a about 4 weeks. No side effects and feel much more relaxed, as every day I'd be thinking will I get an episode. I appreciate I still could but hope this low dose will be the fix until I get my ablation. I still follow trigger avoidance.

My PAF used to be 4 hrs once or twice a year (not on any meds for it) but then this year started to get one or two episodes a month hence being prescribed Flecanide.
