Update after coming off bisoprolol

Hi all

Well I saw EP last Tuesday in the pacemaker clinic (a quicker way of seeing me rather than waiting till December as was the changed appointment)

Good news first..... pacemaker NOT recorded and episodes of flutter or Afib!! Since ablation in April!! It has been deemed a success!! I will take that.

Then..... I showed him my BP readings which showed extremely low blood pressure his eyes nearly popped out his head!! I told him GP had to take me off Bisoprolol he agreed but now he is referring me to his colleague who deals with cardiogenic syncope who can do more in-depth tests if he will see me given I have a pacemaker....AND.... referring to a specialist chemist (I think) who will do some test or other ( can’t remember the name let alone pronounce or spell it) on my Adrenal Glands for adrenal insufficiency/ Addison Disease! Yikes now that was a mouthful I know. But to say he was worried I think was an understatement!!!

Plus he’s upped my Midodrine which I can’t tolerate as it gives me cold sharp shards in my head(it is used to increase blood pressure)

So playing the waiting game again... but keeping me under him at Leicester Glenfield but I am also to keep the December appointment in his clinic . But really really cannot fault the care I am receiving from there. Yes it’s an hours drive from where I live but I am getting the best treatment...and I got some lovely lovely fruit from the stall outside the hospital too!! Just thought ide say haha!!

I’m still feeling quite ill with the low BP he’s concerned this has happened since ablation I think I left him scratching his head so as to speak!! Poor man having me for a patient... but I did say I was that one in a million patient!!

Just wanted to update you all..

Sounds as though you are being well cared for. So what are your readings?

Having suffered from very low BP all my life I can resonate but interestingly my BP is now much higher since ablation.

Have you looked at the STARS page on The AA page on low BP? Some good tips on how to a alleviate the worst of the symptoms. Mine seems to be ANS and improving vagal tone has helped.

Hi cdreamer

My lowest reading was 77/42 highest 81/54 not good!!

Yes looked at STARS I had low BP all my life then with the fast and irregular heart rate BP raised to just about normal!but I’ve not this bad hence I had pacemaker 12 yrs ago I’ve had 2 positive tilt table tests too didn’t last 30 seconds!!

Yes I do all the stimulation techniques etc yes increased salt etc but since ablation it’s knocked BP even lower so it would seem I’ve had a life long thing going on as I used to faint a lot in my younger years so I’m being tested for adrenal insufficiency and Addison’s was mentioned but I don’t have all the symptoms for that there’s a couple I don’t have on that list but it does answer a lot of life long questions

I do thank you for your message and encouraging words thank you. Hope all going well for you

Oh Hazel I know how debilitating hypotension can be, hope you get some answers and some treatment as those figures are far too low to function effectively.
