Heavy, noticeable heartbeat...

My heartbeat is currently regular and is going at about 60 per minute, bug feels noticeable and rather “heavy”. I suppose this counts as a palpitation. Could this be a lead up to atrial fibrillation?

Palpitation just means that you are aware of your heart beating. 60bpm is the low end of normal but I suspect that anxiety of AF makes you more aware of it. Try not to think about it, take some deep breaths and move on.

My heart often thumps, in fact sometimes so hard I can see my clothes move. However, I am in NSR and just ignore when this happens, as it has rarely lead to an episode of AFib. You will get used to it!

I had this after cardioversion. My Bpm fell to 43 but was in sinus rhythm. It was my heart trying to go back into AF which it then promptly did

I find this especially at night. Interferes with my sleeping. My body feels like a pulse especially my stomach. I think this is related to vagus nerve. I find breathing in count of 7and out count 11 nice and regular for about 10 minutes calms it all down. Easy to do and worth trying.

My gp says that this is a side effect of beta blockers.
