I have dupuytrens disease. I have found massage helps and someone suggested steroid injections but surgery is the correct treatment. I have quite a number of nodules and massage has kept my hand loose.
Did you know that this condition means you are originally of Viking descent. My physio, GP and other relevant medics confirmed this.
I didn´t know about the Vikings, but I read it is more common among northern europeans, which applies in my case, I also read that it is more common in men, 5 to 1, well I am the one woman. I am massaging it now, and I think it helped, one doctor I saw told me not to stretch it, I did not with the hand I had surgery done, and now I am doing it with the other one, if it becomes worse, I will have to have surgery anyway, but I think it also helps.
Yes I have this....yet another condition! No treatment needed so far. Ill keep on touching wood.
