Taking 2.5 mg after bypass surgery 8 mths ago. Now I believe the recent issues are due to this drug. Total insomnia cannot get off to sleep sever panic attacks and hyperventilation, frequency of micturition. Pharmacist told me to reduce dose by half which I have done this morning. Will it have any effect I am now terrified of going to bed

The chemist should not be the one who tells you to lower the dose you must see the doc and explain all your symptoms I’m on bisoprolol for a fib which I’ve had since January I’ve tried lowering dose a few times and againfive days ago I can totally understand what your going through I have heard so many bad things about this drug hence why I DONT want to be on it no more but I’m lowering it til I can see the cardiologist in few weeks

I’m also on 2mg diazepam for anxiety but always take 1 at night before bed been on them since January the anxiety is made worse by this drug bisoprolol I swear by it and I’m sure others will agree I’ve had side affects since day one but at the time I had no choice in being put on them

So you seeing your doc tomorrow ?

Seeing Dr on Tues I was on a different blood pressure tab before going into hospital but this is not a good drug. I had bypass surgery in Jan and all went well but my chest opened 17 x 10 x 6 centimeters and I could not have plastic surgery until the end of May. No other issues at all. So as the Dr said last night no reason not to use my old tabs to control my blood pressure. They use this drug because it is cheap. I am an ex nurse and am monitoring my BP but not prepared to put up with the side Effects for anyone thanks Joan

By the way I think I have put this post this in the wrong forum I do not suffer from AF and while I came out of hospital on heavy dose of Morphine I reduced that rapidly and had stop taking it totally in three weeks. I control my pain now with co- codamol it not perfect but better than morphine. The Bisoprolol was just what the consultant liked for high blood pressure and I was too ill to argue with a hole in my chest
