Went to see my GP today to sort things out and put my mind at ease
about what I saw as a problem. Saw a really nice understanding lady
who explained fully whats happening and why. My cardiologist has
indeed seen the ECG and has diagnoised sinus bradycardia. He also
suspects ectopic beats, which at the moment are coming fast and
furious. I actually thought this was atrial flutter due to that exact feeling.
As I have stopped beta blockers entirely he thinks a pacemaker may
be needed. In the meantime he suggested the 24 hour monitor.
I feel so much better for knowing exactly whats going on and whilst
I still dont feel good I know things are in hand to put that right.
Thanks so much for the advice it really does help to get things in prospective.
I woke up this morning with my action plan and it worked and I got it sorted.
Further to the chat about calling an ambulance, when I started with AF I
was in the supermarket, trolly full as it was Christamas and wham!! AF fast
and furious, couldnt push the trolley oh dear, struggled to checkout and
saw an assistant I knew and explained. She called paramedic, everybody
watching he called ambulance, I kept passing out and someone called my
husband. By the time the ambulance got there I was so much better but
still a bit not quite with it so they took me to hospital. I spent the next
four hours on a trolley wishing I was at home. Not an experience I would
want to repeat, even though you are told its not a problem.
Thanks Shirley.
