Alcohol Consumption Increases Heart Rate
I have read but have no reference at hand presently that is was concluded in the UK that ingesting any alcohol is Cardi-toxic to the heart.. Starting to believe that as I keep consumption to a minimum.
I've known for years that whisky in particular raises both my heart rate and my blood pressure. This has never stopped me, although I use it less now as it has other undesirable effects as well. No doubt all alcohol has similar effects, in proportion to it's strength.
I think alcohol affects bisoprolol's ability to keep heart rate down. That's just my thought. Certainly after I've had a drink, my heart rate goes up...
My heart rate tends to go down with a glass of wine!!!!!!
I can drink gluten free alcoholic beverages with little increase. I drink gluten free beer and hard ciders with no effect on my heart, even gluten free vodka and whiskey I am fine with but had a margarita at a restaurant without asking about the mix and had immediate high heart rate which prompted me to look at ingredients in mixers and yes many have gluten. Just something to think about. I normally only have a couple of drinks only in 1 night. I cannot touch gluten without my heart going berzerk instantly. I do not have celiac just sensitivity that effects my heart.
