Does anybody else find they have only so much energy to expend in a day and once that’s gone an Afib episode is almost certain to occur.
Busy day yesterday helping out with great grandchildren, then walk to collect car from garage. Episode started mid-evening.

Hi Di, it's not been my personal experience because I was initially diagnosed with persistent AF however, sometime after a successful cardioversion I did occasionally experience episodes if I had been excessively physically active, and by that I mean cleaning our motorhome.....I wonder if Hylda is connected to Hymer in the same way FlapJack is connected to our motorhome!!

Hylda is indeed a Hymer, see profile picture. She was purchased with a legacy from Aunt Hilda too.

Thanks. Usually spend several months in France, going to try Germany this year. My French can manage their health system but not too sure about my german
Hi Hylda - yes I definitely find that but I have other conditions which limit my energy bank so I am never sure which triggers which - but doing too much is a definite factor for me.
My episodes very often occur soon after lunch, especially after a busy morning.
Do you suffer from an under active thyroid too? I wonder if that is my problem

Di, I believe there is a close connection between AF and thyroid issues and once the thyroid is sorted, it can resolve the AF. I cannot remember the detail, but might be worth exploring....John

Flapjack...i believe this only applies to over active thyroid gland .

Hi Di. Yes I do. I read Flapjack's reply and totally agree. So does my Electrophysiologist. Am working on improving my thyroid situation. Not getting much help from my PCP/GP so am learning as much as possible to be able to rely less on docs. This might be helpful; I recently added the ThyroidUK forum (from Health Unlocked) to my other 2 communities -A-fib and restless legs-. It has been and IS a WEALTH of information. Take care. irina1975
thanks Pokski. I have read some info on Suzy Cohen's website and her ideas reasonate with me. I had planned on getting some books this weekend, Isabella Wentz and one about the Adrenal Reset Diet. I am thinking about this one also by Suzy Cohen.
No, thyroid is perfectly OK - I have a quite rare neurological-muscular condition which although it is not recognised as such in medical books - I am sure that it has an affect on my heart.
It is very difficult to track cause and affect, with AF I have discovered that nothing is simple!
Yes absolutely!
Hi Di. I used to but not since I got a pacemaker in 2016. Pulse stays around 70 in all but the MOST frustrating situations. My PMaker is named "Seymour". He's my friend! LOL Take care. irina1975
I have permanent AF, no thyroid problems and if I get overtired I feel unwell, heart starts playing games and I feel drained. If I have a sleepless night I know I will not feel to good next day, it does feel as if my batteries are drained and need a jump start !!! For instance doing the grocery shopping some days I am fine, other days I can get half way round and suddenly feel drained, have to finish quickly and get home and just flop into my chair.
So I try to pace myself nowadays, I believe it is the AF but maybe also the medication plays a part as well.
