Speak to your GP or if you have any chest pain , feel feint etc etc go to A+E

sorry i can't be of any more help. in the first 24 hours you could have been cardioverted, but now you will need 3 months of anticogulants before they will do that (at least that's my experience)

Anyway, you need to see someone and get on the right medication if you need anything

No worries thankyou my ep has prescribed flecanide to take but im too worried to take it as pip,as i thought you had yo be in hospital for the first dose but he said its ok as my 7/day hoilter monitor show ist degree heart block and i had one other test an echo which he said was perfectly ok.He is a well respected ep but it is so hard not to worry. My heart rate and bp are normal ie heart rate between 65/85 so confushing all the different advice.I do appreciate your replies though thankyou

Hi,

I Have not started the Flecanide given for the same reasons and have decided that if I do need to take it I am going to turn up at A and E and ask to be monitored as it's the first time- I doubt you'd be turned away!!

No we need to know if it’s safe for us as affects different people differently

I was in a similar position as you when prescribed Flecainide as a PiP. When I asked my cardiologist, who is also well respected about being monitored the first time I took it, he also assured me this wasn't necessary in my case. Unfortunately, I cannot remember his reasoning but I took his advice and all was well. If you are not sure, I would follow Rosy's advice and take it at your nearest A&E, the only problem may be that a PiP is normally taken within an hour of an episode starting and you are well past that point, so I would get to A&E as soon as possible and don't forget to take your Flecainide......best of luck
