Hi all I have read with great interest information on here about vagal AF and know I fit the pattern that is attacks tend to happen after eating and when I relax, also bending down suddenly can trigger an attack and I currently use PIP and attacks last 1 to 3 hours. Attacks also never happen in the morning.
A Cryablation did not work but has improved duration and pain of AF, I had a pseudo anyeurism after the ablation and ended up at St Thomas's hospital so do not want to go down that route again.
Someone on here said cryoablation does not work so well with vagal AF any further info would be gratefully received.

Cryo ablation is very limited in what it can do because of the use of a small balloon which sits in the entrance to the pulmonary vein and makes a circle of freeze burn. It can not deal with any other areas in the heart which may be firing off. For those an RF ablation will be needed.
It is nothing to do with vagal or not.merely that there are areas which the balloon can not reach needing ablating.
Yes, it sounds like vagally mediated AF to me. Lots to read up here and do to avoid those triggers and calm the Vagus Nerve down, so in essence good as is more in your hands particularly if you have Lone AF. I think one Qigong exercise helped me strengthen the neck (sleeping on the left side) and stomach muscles (large meals) where the Vagus Nerve can kick off AF. Good luck.
Thank you I already sleep on my left side and try to avoid big meals particularly late at night. I seem to be getting more worried as frequency of attacks have increased recently partly due to anxiety as my partner has cancer and results of chemo due next week!!
Sorry, my post wasn't too clear, sleeping on the left side often triggers it and the Qigong just strengthens certain muscles to hopefully reduce a vagaly induced episode, but I still avoid the left side & like you light evening meals as early as possible. Very best wishes for the results next week!
