Re the above, I have been taking Apixaban for 3 years and know it as a NOAC. Is it, or is it a DOAC or just an AC? Whats the difference and if there isn’t any, why the change.

DOAC - Direct Oral AntiCoagulant (Many doctors are referring to them as this now) Instead of
NOAC = Novel Oral AntiCoagulants or None VitK Oral AntiCoagulant.
All means the same thing - AntiCoagulants
The point being that when DOACs first arrived on the scene they were novel but five or six years down the line they are not hence the name change. Some of us cant get used to the new name . lol
