Hello Linda, I've been on metoprolol for a little over a year and have had no issues at all. I'm on 25 mg. I usually take mine at night before bed. Started taking it after being diagnosed with PACS.

Could I ask what PACS stands for? Have you got full fitness? My husband takes 50 mirn 50 night could this be too much. He had very fast heart rate but that has niw sliwed with the tablets to a birmal rate?

Thanks

PACS is preatrial contractions. Dr prescribed for me to slow heart rate down so I don't go into afib.....as much:/

If your husband has any history of pulmonary disease (COPD or asthma) Beta blockers such as metoperol can exacerbate it.

Hello Linda - when I started taking Bisoprolol (also a beta blocker) I was so breathless and tight chested I could barely function. My dose was halved, other drugs were added and in time my body adjusted. Four years later I still get breathless, especially walking uphill, but most of the time I feel ‘normal’ - whatever that is with AF. 🙂
