I am 57 and last period age 50. Suddenly got ectopics. Did anyone else experience this and did it stop?

I reached menopause at 45. Heavy bleeding was quickly fixed with microwaves. Roll onto 56, I had my first AF event. Many many etopics. It's been one year now. Taking all the meds. I'm getting use to it. Now dealing with a case of shingles.

Yes I did but it was a forerunner of my full blown AF. I put it down to increased age (58)rather than menopause specifically.

Hi! Since you've been menopausal for 7 years I would not say that is a direct correlation to getting the ectopics. Hormonal changes can definitely make that happen more, but typically right at the time of the hormonal fluctuation.

Hi there :) My personal situation agrees with SRMGrandma - my arryhthmia kicked off just as the (early) menopause was starting. Presumably hormones playing havoc. I was told this was quite a common time & cause. Later diagnosed with AF

So 7 years on sounds a long time to me to be a direct link- But anything is possible with hormones I guess!

It’s horrible thing to live with, i know. Really hoping you’re feeling better soon. Has the heart quiver you mentioned in another post calmed down, or is it still there? I’m wondering if you’ve managed to get it on any recording? X

Hi yes the quiver is still there but it seems to coincide with eating. About one hour later the quiver rears it’s ugly head. It’s horrible

Ugh how horrid. Must be scary too. With the link to eating, I wonder if it’s vagal nerve connected?

Did you manage to catch it on recording for for assessment? I too have a quiver sensation sometimes and always wonder what actually is happening... :)

It is possible that taking magnesium may help (but not if you have kidney problems). Many of us are short of it.

I did try magnesium but had a uti at the time and felt that the magnesium was making me feel worse

I am 51 and was diagnosed with AF last year and had an Ablation in September. I now experience Ectopics.

My EP suggested Ectopics are common in females of my age and may subside. I am just post menopausal. He has suggested to try Magnesium, which I've just started. We agreed a further Ablation could help but as they aren't life threatening, just uncomfortable, I wouldn't bother.
