Taking the Apixaban since july i seem to have a muzzy head and roaring sound also occasional sharp head pains....anyone else had these symptoms?

I am only on the low dose...2.5

I’ve developed tinnitus but can’t be certain it’s the Apixaban. Anyhow it’s not bothering me too much. Sort of got used to it.

Hi Harrybin,I have been taking apixaban for several months and have experienced severe continuous buzzing in both ears.It is impossible to determine if this or other factors is the cause. I have been reluctantly to switch anticoagulants as basically things are stable now and I am no longer in AFib or CHF. And I had a previous stroke and am afraid of another one. Best of luck!

Apixaban is there to prevent strokes, it shouldn't affect the AFib or CHF, so you should be able to change eg to Rivaroxaban which is also to prevent strokes, without affecting the stability of your AFib and CHF.

Been on it now since July. Personally, I've never know it, and have been fortunate enough so far not to have any bleeds to remind me. Even though I've had no AF episodes during that time, I have no regrets due to the peace of mind it gives me should I get an episode out of the blue.

It may not be the Apixaban causing the symptoms of course but I too have noticed Tinnitus.

I'm on Riveroxiban and have sharp head pains too but no other symptoms.

I've been on apixaban for about two months and strangely enough I've noticed strange noises in head.

I’ve been on Apixaban for about 18 months now with no side effects, no titinus and no unexplained aches and pains - lots of explainable ones though....
