Tic, Tic, Tic. Pill in The bottle. 2nd time.

As I am approaching my 1 year post ablation I have just had to take my pill in the bottle Flecanide (3 pills now then 2x daily) for the second time. Waiting home now to return to NSR. Again.

Had anxiety last night with low BP this morning with tight chest. That is my tip off. That and faint pulse. Seems I get excited to be further and further from PAF after ablation only to be reminded of it again. ;^(

I'm not sure if this is going to help, but I had 2 episodes of AF in quick succession, around 18 months after my ablation. Both were resolved quickly with flecainide PiP. I know for a fact, severe stress was a major factor, revolving around a specific issue which has now been resolved, so I am fortunate. My ticker seems to have reverted back to normal, occasional ectopics and palputations, but no AF for a couple of months. Of course it's 'orrible to get an unwanted reminder well after the normal blanking period. In my case, I spoke to my Arrythmia Nurse and she arranged for me to see my EP, so the situation is being monitored which may be something you could arrange as it eases the anxiety if you know there is professional help.....best of luck.....John

At this time of year, you may find the cause is an infection and things will settle as soon as your body has fought that off.

It's so disappointing, but don't give up hope of being normal yet. How are you now?

Hello Jean. Luckily the PIP worked within 2-3 hours I was back in NSR. Called the Dr. and they said i did the correct thing and they will record the event in my record.

I'm thinking if I move away from the stress of my situation I might be better off as I believe my AF is caused by stress. I have started taking light anxiety meds to cope with it for the time being until such a time things change. No alcohol for the time being even though it was only one toddy with the nightly news.. :^) How are you doing?

I'm not doing too bad at the moment thanks. After having 6 months of a perfect heart rate, it's gone a little askew now. Saying that my heart rate now, although not exactly perfect, is very close to that and I can do most of what I want. I used to think it was the stress of work that gave me AF, but I retired and then discovered it wasn't that at all. Best wishes Jean
