I have not heard of a connection but it is associated with autoimmune disease. I have this problem and no one can give me an explanation but I put it down to systemic inflammation. Mine get very irritated and I need to use drops frequently.

See your optometrist for advice because there some nasties which can cause this so I believe.

I notice that on my father who has af. His eyes dont feel irritated. But, i did find a research linking damaged capillaries including those in the eyes and kidneys with af. It seems like i cannot put the link here.

Like CDreamer said, there are nasties, these include acute glaucoma and uveitis which can be sight threatening, though less commonly bilateral unless extrinsic.

Urgent trip to optician next step. Treatment for acute intrinsic eye problems like these can not wait until after Christmas.

I have had those types of eyes for years. I have AF (although now in SR) and controlled glaucoma.
