Thanks for posting - I had ablation which was successful for about 2.5 years so I would come under the 90% success rate for 12 months.
I would be interested in a study looking at success rate for 5+ years.
Yes indeed the technology they are now using to map has not been around that long , but very few were claiming 90pc after a year (apart from possibly Dr Shilling) hence the reason I think that this may well be process given the new technology - but as always time will tell. Its good to see a large amount of funding going into the sector and more should follow if this proves to be a significant improvement.
I think success is mostly down to the skill level of the EP. Mine was claiming this rate many years ago but I chose him because he was one of the best around, but I suspect his underlings pull the percentage down.
