Can anyone decipher my 72hr ECG?

*I know you guys aren’t Cardiologists, just wonder if anyone knows what some of this stuff means*

Ok so I got a copy of my three day ECG ahead of my appointment at Barts this week. It shows the following in the report;

Sinus rhythm with periods of sinus arrhythmia throughout the recording with:

-Borderline short PR intervals seen in most of recording

-Rare ventricular ectopics seen in isolation and couplet

-Rare supraventricular ectopics seen in isolation and couplet

-Rare periods of high take off seen, due to early repolarization pattern rather than ischaemic changes

-Slight ST/T changes seen at fast heart rate

-Changes in heart rate noted

-Nocturnal sinus bradycardia, slowest at 37bpm

-Max HR 169bpm

Note that this was just during three days of normal activity, pottering about, looking after the kids etc.

Anyway, I’m seeing my EP on Thursday, but does anyone know what any of this means?? I have PAF diagnosis already but ecg showed no episodes (I didn’t expect it to).

Thanks!

Tash

I could guess for you if you like, but it won't be anywhere near a clinical diagnosis!

- You are getting ectopic beats albeit rarely - and from more than one place.

- Your HR drops at night where it is classed as Bradycardia (under 45bpm)

Sorry I can't be more help, I am unaware of things like QT intervals and P waves, I just know what my normal trace looks like and my abnormal trace!

Thank you @jedimasterlincoln 🙂

I know what you mean about just knowing what’s what for yourself. Even on trying to look into these findings, I honestly just found myself even more confused 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hopefully Dr Hunter will be able to shed some light on it!

It takes more skill than ours to read and understand but Jedimaster has the gist. I doubt it is as bad as it sounds.

THi Tash,

Short PR intervals and variation in the ST segment (early depolarisation) are thought normal in young people so I agree only your cardiologist can say what they mean in your case as will have all your history to hand

There doesn't seem anything too serious- you seem to have a lot of variability- I have had heart rate in 30's while asleep and 160 when in AF, I wouldn't get anxious but see what is said

Very interesting to see what a 72 hour monitor report looks like but I wouldn't like to suggest what it means though I do see a lot of 'rare' and 'borderline' s so that doesn't seem too worrying.
