I have been taking low dosage of flecainide and it seems to let me exercise, its weird because the metropol wont let me exercise, yet the flecainide does. I take both of these pills at a very low dosage. My afib seems to coming back, every 3 to 4 weeks and its gone in 3 to 4 hours ... if I just continue to take the 2 pills. I try to eat right and stay on the diet Im on but I think it comes back when I ate sugar, decafe coffee to say the least when I started to eat bad and not paying attention to my diet. Its a frustrating process. Im discussing the abalation process NOV 8 ... and just been overwhelm just by the list of post abalation complications not to mention the risk of the procedure itself.

Metropolol is a beta blocker for rate control, so will slow your heart - something I find difficult with Bisoprolol. Flecainide is a rhythm control drug and should not affect the heart rate so that could be why you can exercise taking Flecainide.
Sugar load is a definite trigger for me too, even with 200mg of Flecainide daily, sugar gives me ectopics. The heart and gut are so closely in tune that healthy eating and eating those foods which are individually 'safe' is so important in dealing with arrhythmias. I found it took me a long time to work out what I can and cannot eat.
Best wishes with your consultation re ablation - remember to ask plenty of questions.
I hadn't had an AF episode for about a month until last Saturday evening. I knew immediately what was to blame - SUGAR OVERLOAD.
For long time I have been avoiding ADDED sugar but on Saturday morning I purchased a pack of 2 small strawberry cheesecakes to have as a pudding with my evening meal. The strawberry topping was like thick syrup, not nice at all.
So for the very first time I have identified a food trigger,
Hi, how low is your flecanide dose? Ten days after taking 50mg x 2 daily, my heart rate dropped to 42 average and felt very scary, I asked for it to be changed, but on reflection maybe it would have been better to just have it reduced. The Sotalol which replaced it has done no good at all!
