How often do you check your Kardia when you are asymmetric?

I got the Kardia 2 months ago, it is an amazing device for Afib. I use it everyday, fist thing in the morning, I have no symptoms with Afib, until I find out I am in Afib, then I worry and feel terrible the rest of the day, until the Afib stops.

Hi Slattery,

For what it is worth, l tend to take my blood pressure and kardia ecg readings once a week. The trick is to try and get on with your life (easier said than done l know).

Regards

Barry

When I first got my Kardia I got obsessed by it, checking my reading several times a day which did me no good at all. It was very useful when I did have symptoms though and was able to show my cardiologist what my heart was doing. Now I only use it if I have symptoms or if I generally don't feel well to see if my heart beat looks different. I know Kardia sends you a chirpy message every morning telling you to keep track of your resting heart rate but I wouldn't do it if it leads to worry.

I see no point in checking with my Kardia if I'm feeling well enough already. I only use it if I have symptoms, or if I feel generally weak and shaky, to see what's going on. I can't remember the last time, as I've been well enough for a few weeks now.

I can see that it could be used if you don't suffer symptoms while in AF, but to what end? It can only be useful if you are keeping records to show someone the frequency/intensity of your AF, and then once a day seems sensible for that.

I never paid the monthly subscription to AliveCor, and very soon turned off the daily reminders as prone to generating the Kardia paranoia that BobD warns us of.

I don't get any messages from Kardia or pay any subscription. I just use it when I suspect AF and want to check what's going on or when I've taken my PIPs and want to monitor their effect. I find it invaluable at these times.

I only use my Kardia to confirm that I am in AF and again to check when I feel the PIP has settled everything down . Have never found the need to use it any other time . I bought it on recommendation of my EP .
