If you are how are you getting on? At the moment I am not on any medication for AF,due to side effects
Saw a different GP today and he suggested I try this. I guess it is a beta blocker, not had
Any luck with them

I've taken atenolol since 2002 and would resist any change. I'm fine, thank you! No problems except for cold feet if I don't look after them and a heart rate in the forties or low fifties. The latter doesn't trouble me at all.
I took Atenalol for hypertension before my AF and had little side effects, except slightly cold feet.
I've been taking atenolol for 17 years. Unlike propranol which gave me nightmares ( a documented side effect), I have had no problems with atenolol. As mentioned above, cold feet are a small problem so I sleep with socks. The main thing it helps with is controlling my hyperadrenergic situation. My dose is low, 12.5 mgs, upped to twice a day on difficult days. Start low and see how it goes. Best of luck.
I was on Atenolol for about 10 years for SVT, with good results, then taken off for no given reason. Since my botched ablation at end of April, 2017, - I have been put back on it to control my h-beats while in A Fib and It did slow things down so it was not as noticeable - so far so good. If the ablation worked, I should know for certain in a few months...
Thank you for your post,I have been on Atenolol now for 1 week, almost a record for me as I have bad side effects from multi drugs. I seem to have a bit of bruising and quite tired, however sticking with it meantime, and keeping my fingers crossed
