How odd. Surely it can't appear from nowhere?

Are your scales on exactly the same spot each time? I take it you're wearing, (or not), exactly the same clothing?

I, like you have af and HF and up my furosemide from 80mg to 120mg when I weigh a couple of pounds more as I know it's fluid. Actually, I hadn't appreciated until I had these conditions that fluid tends to weigh more than solids. I'm limited to 1300 MLS of fluid a day and overdoing it, even by a little, (not counting fluid used in cooking for example,), can push my weight up by quite a bit.

I'm 4 lbs heavier than usual this morning, but I know I drank over my limit yesterday so today will have to up the furosemide.

Not a good idea to keep weighing yourself at different times. Best stick to same time each day such as first thing in the morning and wearing very little. I have found even pants and T shirt can add a couple of pounds. Also ideally at the same time in relation to any toilet action. LIke Goldie I can not see how you can gain weight without intake.

I believe you should weigh yourself naked first thing in the morning before eating or drinking to get a proper idea of your weight gain or loss.

Do your scales need a new battery, or need to be replaced? I know mine are very erratic - I can gain or lose in five minutes!

Hi, I've noticed a direct correlation with 'bad episodes' of AF and hard bloating around my midriff. Not sure which comes first, i'll have to pay more attention to the cause and effect direction. Bloating could set off the AF, or vice versa. I don't weigh myself but I do look heavily pregnant when bloated!

Me too....I thought it might be a side effect of the beta -blocker???

It's very, very frustrating.

For me its the same as WendyWu above. As for weighing - you should only compare the same time of day with the same time of day. Morning on rising a good time I think. But put weight on with BB's for sure.

I have HF and the advice I was given by the specialist nurse was to get out of bed, go to the loo, and then weigh myself on the same scales set in the same place and position every day. The scales should not be on carpet etc but should be on a solid floor and should not wobble. If I put on more than three pounds over a couple of days without good reason then I need to take the Furosimide for three days or until my weight goes back to normal.
