Has anyone who has suffered with af had thier thyroid gland checked as I did a few weeks ago and have discovered that I have an over active thyroid gland which causes preasure on your heart and sweats and palpitations in the body this problem does not help when in af. Might be worth getting checked out it only takes a blood test .....

Thyroid tests are usually a first thing done if you present with AF along with echo cardiogram and ECG. Strange if you missed out!
Looks like I've missed out a lot as I've had af for for years and have had 3 cardioversions and 1 chemical cardioversion they have only just discovered my thyroid condition and have never had a ecocardiogram which I'm now having in August 2017 my life has been turned upside down and has just not effected me but also my family and friends....
