I am a 60 year old female who has had AF many years . I had an ablation in 2008 and it cured it . It came back in 2015 and I've had numerous hospital admissions , many different drugs and cardioversion in 2016 . I'm now on dronderone but still having constant episodes of AF or SVT . My cardiologist said he doesn't suggest another ablation . But I'd like to try as this thing is driving me. Urs and taking over my life . How do I go about trying to get them to do another ablation

Find an electrophysiologist near you and make a private appointment for a second opinion. There is a list by area under patient information on AF Association website. Be prepared that you may not be suitable if there is already a lot of scaring.
Hi Gkeily56 , I agree with Bob, go for a second opinion with an electrophysiologist if you can. The one ablation that worked for 7 years gave you freedom from AF for all that time and could well be achieved again, perhaps for even longer next time.
I can well understand how disappointed you must have felt when the AF reappeared and hospital visits and all the meds became part of your life again and then your cardiologist wasn't prepared to suggest another ablation. However, that doesn't mean you categorically can't have one, so do all you can to make it happen if it's at all possible.
I wish you all the best for a happy outcome and an AF-free future.
Take Bob's advice.
I now have SVT after having previous ablations for AF.
I now have an ablation planned for 41/2 weeks time. My EP has suggested that there's a high possibility of success.
