That is relatively low rate actually. My atrial tachycardia is usually around 140 which I get used to after a day or two and many people see rates near or over 200 when in AF. I t is more how you feel that actual rate.

My rate used to go much higher and very debilitating

I am lucky. I am in persistant AF pretty much symptom free with a resting HR of 65-70 and even on exercising very rarely goes over 100 bmp.

Likewise

I've been in AF since 2009. I have been going to the gym for the last 3 years. Good news is cardio workouts lower your BP and heart rate back to normal levels. They also energize you to a great extent. Go slow work your way up a little at a time. The new machines have heart rate touch monitors when you see your rate getting to hi slow down or quit. I also lift weights and have lost over 70 lbs.

I've been in continuous AF since Tuesday. In hospital now. After Digoxin for 2 days I'm running at 70 at rest but goes up to 130 if I move around. Feeling fed up. My normal in 60 and really regular and steady. Hope you revert soon Bushy 2016

Hi Bushy I'm the same. My Heart Rate was 140 but now it's around 80. I've been in AF since the 30 th December I was on beta blockers but they don't work now. My father was the same so I've inherited this.

I'm now on Digoxin now which has bought my heart rate down. Feeling heaps better now & can cope. I take this at night which works for me & I get up & walk in the morning. Beta blockers I felt I was dragging on foot behind the other & was tired all the time.

Cheers hope this helps.

Rob.

Get an ablation. Maybe 2 but move forward. Mayo Clinic the best!

Great. I needed 3 and 3rd time was the charm!! SR for 3 years now. No meds. Life is good. Give your heat 3-4 months after ablation to heal. Avoid high stress situations if you can. Good luck.

I am now in persistent AF again since 3rd ablation not successful. I am tachy/Brady. At rest HR sometimes goes down to 57 but as soon as I get up and move around it seems to fix itself around 120-130. EP is happy with this, I wish I was 😂 I too am breathless on exertion especially in this heat. All the best for your upcoming ablation, hope it fixes you for good.

Do not think my issue was so much the rate as the beats.Missing beats, odd beats, my ekg to me was unreadable. Heck a fast normal rythm like a flutter would have been a major improvement at the time.

So beyond the rate what does your ekg look like. Mine was almost random squiggles at some points.

Hi,

I've been in persistent for the last 5 weeks ,fortunately asymptomatic apart from the extra visits to the loo, polyuria. are you not prescribed any medication to reduce the rate ?
