Flecainide/ Glucoma

Is there anyone taking Flecainide who also has Glucoma if so has it had any adverse affect on your sight

Hi Souljacs4

Cannot help you with the flecainide but I have Glaucoma and none of my heart tablets cause any probs. There was one cann't remember its name now, but cuased very dry eyes which did not help the glaucoma, had to come off them. Do you have to use eye drops daily. I do and was concerned because I take a beta blocker for heart and one of the eye drops has same in it but seems okay. Hope you get more replies.

I have Glaucoma and before my cryoablation I was on flecainide. Speaking personally I didn't notice any problems with my eyes. I hope this helps you. Sirey

Thank you both for your replies. It would be good to know if anyone else has had any problems, I had and eye test and am due to see the opthamologist in July

I do not have glaucoma but I take flecanide and on the highest dose I did have sight problems. I saw multiple objects on the periphery of my vision and had trouble focussing in bright light. I have had my dose reduced and this is much better but not completely gone which is a bit worrying. However my optician tells me that is not a physical problem with the eyes but with the nerves taking the visual messages to the brain. This made me feel a bit better for some reason but Im not sure why! Anyway I decided to bury my head in the sand as the alternative is raging A.F. x

Thank you for your reply hope things continue to improve and as you mention anything that helps control AF is a good thing. We have no choice really until the boffins come up with an alternative X

I am at high risk for glucoma due to high pressure in my eyes, have been on Fleconiade almost 3 years with no eye problems. Hope that helps.
