I had a year or two of very very bad stress and anxiety leading to my first episode of AF.....no other issues so wonder if this caused mine

Pretty sure stress has a huge influence on my af.

I was fine until our big boss flew over from the states and started firing people, it was a very stressful time and I am convinced that this caused my AF, I already had high blood pressure, so maybe the two did for me

I keep a training diary and have recorded my episodes of AF and what I was doing running up to it. It is not entirely scientific but it is interesting that stressful moments are a common theme as a "trigger" for AF up to my 1st ablation.

When stressed, taking time out for some mindful moments I am able to reduce the episode.

As I said, not scientific and there may be many other factors at play but it works for me.

Final point... positive stress has the same physiological response. So exciting conversations and high energy events created the same reaction... AF episodes!

Post ablation I am now hyper aware, creating it's own anxiety, but nothing other than a raised HR.
