Hi just wonder if other readers have had migraines nearly everyday since ablation 2 weeks ago. Also lots of thumping heart and palpitations. If so how long did it all take to resolve

Yes this is all standard stuff. They never tell you these things. The migraine is due to the transeptal puncture and the palpitations are normal. Your heart does NOT like being attacked and may take up to three months to fully recover.
Should start to improve soon mind Why oh why do people have to come here for re-assurance? Surely the EPs must know these things. We get this almost daily!
but thankfully they can and sometimes it is better hearing it from people who have been through it and come out the other side.
Have a good w/e Bob - I am about to tackle my tax return.......urrrrg! Only slightly less uncomfortable than ablation.
wish I had had a leaflet or something when I left hosp then would have known what to expect. I remember having migraine 2 hours after procedure and thought I was having a stroke. I was told at pre op that I would be back at work after a week, I can hardly manage to get through the day after 2 weeks due to fatigue and migraine.

The trouble is they really do not know! I expected to be dancing down the ward the moment I woke up but not so. We all forget that even though we don't have a great scar on our chest we have had some serious work done in our hearts. None of the people you see from nurse to EP actually have experienced these things so don't understand. To my knowledge there has never been a properly formulated booklet on recovery.
