His mention of genetics made me think of what had been passed on to me. My father died at 63 with Parkinson’s, One of his sisters died of colon cancer in her 40's. Another very cleverly killed herself ( it was assumed that she had a massive stroke) in her 80's due to the pain she suffered from arthritis of the spine. One of his brothers who had angina had a cardiac arrest during an endoscopy. Another brother survived his first three heart attacks but died of the fourth at 74. His other brother was killed in an accident when about 50.

My mother lived to 92 albeit with dementia after surviving colon cancer in her 60's and had a kidney removed due to a tumour when she was 81. Her two sisters died of old age in their early 80's. One had survived breast cancer. One of her brothers died of leukemia in his 70's and her other brother of kidney failure probably due to the entertaining that his job entailed when in his 50's.
