When will it end , had great Christmas started back to work just after xmas 6-2 wk1 , 2-10 wk2 , 10-6 nights wk3, this week on 10-6 nights Monday finished 6am went home bath cup of tea bed in that order , woke up 12 noon,, er we go again bang bang bang party in the chest yep AF has arrive without invitation , dropped 150 flecamide which seemed to of sorted me out as I was back in sinus after an hour , I thought cool beans maybe it was just a one off, Tuesday morning was ok , BUT this morning yep same routine in at 6am after work bath blah blah then sleep , to be awoken by yep you guessed it AF again , twice in one week couldn't believe it . did the same dropped the flec and it seemed to of sorted it again, I think I realise that its something to do with my shift pattern and probably physical exhaustion, does or did anyone else ever have this issue , as now Im concern when going to work on nights that it will be waiting for me when I get back in the morning , any answer welcome . Hi Derek, how I understand it, under the equality act, work have a duty to help you. If a certain shift causes you a problem they should try to find a solution to support you if possible - i.e. You don't get the shift times which cause the issue. Easy said than done but may be worth investigating.

That's great news I hope they can help you and get you out of the pattern you're in at the moment.

Been there, done that. I know how you feel. Very disconcerting. You just have no control over this pestilence.

Believe me, if you ever get to the permanent AF stage you'll find life far easier. Get on the right meds which will control the rate and life will become easier as your body and brain get used to the condition. Some days better than others but far more stability to your daily routine.

Do you have sleep apnea? My afib is certainly triggered by stress/work is stress and my hours are unpredictable. I may work 3 in a row of 10 hours or 12 or even 13 hours. I have had to get it through my head, I can no longer tax my heart because it goes into afib and I require cardio version! The problem is when you are in NSR you feel fine and do too much, my heart is NOT normal😟 My daughter is a 9 year cardiac nurse and says "Mom your heart is not normal and you have to change your life style" I have always worked very long excessive hours and I simply am not able to continue that life style. I walk on eggshells, between March 28 and Dec 8 I was in the hospital 6 times for cardio version and med changes. Listen to your body and get more rest, you are blessed that the med converts your rhythm. Check out the sleep apnea? Maybe that might also be contributing. I was diagnosed and had no clue, do not snore or have typical apnea risk factors either. Take care.
