Hi Gazza,

I'm from Lake Macquarie N.S.W and in previous posts I have asked the same question - to no avail - I'm not a fan of FB - an Aussie support/AF forum would be great - meet up for the occasional nosh&natter and swap AF notes!

Cheers,

Musetta

Wish I was on Lake Macquarie right now - it'd have to be warmer than Cornwall, UK !!! :-) Lived in Sydney for years, NW suburbs up to Berowra.

Agree with what you say about FB, can only suggest you contact AFA (UK) direct and ask them.

I agree, an Aussie forum group would be very good.

AF A has branches all over the world all stemming from what started here in UK in 2007. This is currently the only forum approved by AF A and as you have seen is used by people from all over the globe.

I agree with you Bob AFA is a great forum and has helped me tremendously in the past few years. An Aussie branch would be good so we could also organise  a "nosh and natter" occasionally.

Cheers,

Musetta

P.S. Hi BobD - attending a AF Patient's Day would be helpful - any idea how

we Aussies could organise that?

Cheers,

Musetta

I'm in remote Oz and have found all the AFers on this site to be helpful and very kind.  Maybe the terms are a little different and the medications, but generally AF issues are the same world-wide.

I'm in Perth, I looked for an oz forum couple of years ago, but I figured if its that hard to find, there isn't one or if there is it must be very small. This forum has lots of active users so is the best for information .

I'm in Sydney - you could always start a thread on this site called "Australian AF forum" which will be easy to search and add to. First, anyone wanting to join the thread can "check in" by saying hello and, if they feel inclined, say where you're from. Then when ever anyone wants to consult with other Australians with AF, they can post to this thread. All the Australians who have "checked in" on the site should receive a notification.

Great - I think it is just a matter of clicking on "Write a post" and then giving the title "Australian AF forum" - I guess the trick will be whether we notice that you've done this. I will search tomorrow and if it is there by then, I'll sign in! :)

Hi, thanks for raising this.

On a related matter I have been saddened by the lack of support groups in Australia. As a sufferer since 2002 there have been times when I would have loved to talk to other patients.
