My GP had reduced my Bisoprolol to 5mg but it didn't seem to make much difference in the tiredness and lethargy that I've been experiencing. Today he has changed me to Carvedilol 3.125 twice a day. Has anybody had experience of Carvedilol, please.? Can I expect an improvement in the effects of Bisoprolol?

Bisoprolol/ Carvedilol
Hi Helena, I've not been on either of these drugs but, Carvedilol is the same class of drug as bisoprolol. Both are beta blockers, and beta blockers are notorious for lethargy and fatigue, but maybe this one will be a bit better for you. I hope so! When on drugs that cause fatigue the best way to combat it is exercise. Exercise can really break through that feeling and it is a great way to take care of your heart. Of course double check with your doctor about how vigorously you are allowed to exercise.
Every one of the meds I am currently on has a big sticker on it saying "will cause fatigue, drowsiness, and dizziness" but I push past it with exercise and feel great. Good luck!
Hi Helena, from March when I was diagnosed with AF,I was given Bisopral 2- 5mgs,I couldn't cope with that,my Gp reduced it to 1-25mgs,-New person!
I think you have to get the dose just right for you, good luck!
