Also it was for Flutter not Fibrillation, much shorter procedure - the one on the programme I mean. My ablation was in the region of £15K But then the procedure took over 7 hours whereas for Flutter it is usually 2 or so.

Interesting(thought they were the same) I have P A F

Flutter is in the right atrium and shows on ecg as a saw tooth bottom line. AF is in left atrium which means passing through the central wall so much more complicated.

I have A Fibrillation and had an ablation a few weeks ago in Blackpool and it only took 1 and a half hours.I had a laser balloon ablation where they drop a little camera in your heart. But I was told it depends how quick they can find the miss firing signal to how long it would take.

I thought Tony Blair had cardioversion, not ablation?

According to the BBC he had an ablation for atrial flutter.

I well remember on leaving the hospital saying he was feeling absolutley fine and back in charge!

I'm sure this was said through gritted teeth!

I couldn't leave a better comment after all those! Good on you all! I thought at the time that he was seen to and sorted a bit quicker than any of us, we all had to carry on with jobs and probably did it better!

Angel blessings to all.

Is Tony Blair the Middle East Peace Envoy ? Surely not the same TB who took us into the Iraq war !
