Persistent or Permanent?

Hi, I know what paroxysmal AF is but what is the difference between Persistent and Permanent AF?

I think persistent AF becomes permanent after 12 months

Permanent is usually unable to ever be put back into NSR, persistent, like me, simply means we are in AF 24/7 but either a cardioversion or an ablation might put us back into NSR.

The definition permanent is little used these days I think. It seems to have been replaced by persistent in most cases, BUT if an internal cardioversion is unable to put you back into NSR you may be considered to be permanent.
