I have persistent AF and have recently been suffering from mild chest pains/discomfort following exertion. Is it possible to determine whether this is due to the AF, or could it possibly be angina ?

Mike.

I think it is best to get it checked out If your GP will arrange tests that's fine- if not, when you have AF go to a and e and tell them you have chest pain so they can see what is happeneing

You need to see your doctors and discuss. Some people do get a little pain with AF but better to check. This is not the place to ask something as serious as that.

This could well be due to angina. You must get it checked out and not be fobbed off. Angina can be diagnosed by spraying some nitro glycerine under your tongue and seeing if the symptoms stop immediately. An ECG is not a lot of use - it does not show angina in half of cases.

I had AF. You need to have an angiogram to see if there are blockages.

I've had an EKG, and the operator said that my arteries were less than 20% blocked.
