Statins and AF link?

Hi everyone.

Could the side effects of taking an 80mg dose of atorvastatin for 2 years cause or contribute to my recent diagnosis of AF?......Because of the constant tiredness and aching I stopped the statin completely for 3 months and felt so much better.

I had my chol checked and it was OK so I confessed all to my GP who reduced my dose to 10mg.

Unfortunately I've now been diagnosed with AF.....could there be a link?....

Hi Scrumpyjack.

I also was on Atorvastatin for a few years prior to being diagnosed with AF.

I never suspected a link before, but it would be interesting to know how many others were in a similar position - no smoke without fire.

Keep drinking the scrumpy,

Mike.
