Hi Beth

You can find the AF Association list of travel insurers who may be more sympathetic to those with pre-existing conditions here: bit.ly/1nMEWb0

If you have any further queries or questions regarding AF please do not hesitate to contact me by phone: 01789 451837 or email: vicki@afa.org.uk.

Best wishes

Vicki

Hi

Sounds like a mirror image of my situation. Diagnosed with PAF early March and have a European cruise booked in mid July. I used the payingtoomuch.com website and although my family annual trip insurance went up, it still worked out at less than £12 per month for the whole year.

Enjoy your cruise.

Hi, Many thanks for that. Such a nightmare trying to find a decent rate. Not P&O by any chance?

We are going on a Royal Carribbean Med cruise in October and i am currently looking for an insurer . I have other conditions as well as the AF so I am complicated but I was advised to try one recommended by Diabetes Uk and when I rang them they wouldn't even give me a quote because I am waiting to have a procedure on my spine in June ? It won't make me any sicker or cause other medical problems but they don't want to know. They said ring back after my procedure. Its getting beyond a joke now with the Insurers I always thought thats what the word Insurance meant ? Obviously these days it means make as much money off vulnerable people and pay as little out as possible. I have had a lot of my conditions many years and I have never claimed on the Insurance ever . If anyone could advise me I would be grateful .

All Clear Travel covered me and very reasonably too

Be aware of 'excess' charges, it pays to get an insurance without these very expensive add-ons. Good luck in finding a reasonably priced insurer and, here's to an wonderful holiday.

BUPA covers me and quite reasonably too, the only extra is if I go to America

I was diagnosed in December and was cruising in April.

I was on warfarin waiting for to get 3 consecutive readings in range before my cardioversion so the problem I had was that I was still classed as awaiting treatment.

I used insurancechoice.co.uk/. (08432278264) They were very understanding and easily & quickly sorted out insurance for me & the family. Cover included cancellation of the holiday prior to departing, which I was concerned about

Be careful, I did accept one quote from another company but when I received the letter it stated that I wasn't covered for the pre existing condition ie AF

Hi, many thanks for the info, looks as if I am sorted with my old bank insurance.

I travel with P&O annually, they only require that you are covered for your AFib if it prevents you from doing things a person without AFib could do, a bit like the DVLA, beware the insurance con merchants.

I always travel with Royal Carribbean Steve so didn't know about P&Os requirements How do I find out about this ? Do you think all cruise companies have their own requirements?
