Not sure I could answer, after all what is safe? There will always be a risk assessment and both you and the doctors need to decide is better to leave it or better to do it. I believe there are anticoagulants that Are given intravenously so perhaps you need to go back to your doctors and discuss with them.

Having had an ablation on 27th Nov all I can tell you is that it was so, so much easier than I had ever imagined, no bleeding and just some bruising in the groin which was a bit tender for a day or two. What exactly are you worrying about, the ablation procedure or lack of anti coagulants?

Thanks for your reply CDreamer,I was asking because I had my pacemaker fit in April and my ablation in August but all the people i hear from are on antcoagulants after op to prevent strokes but I,m on nothing so I was asking if any body else was in the same position, and they thought it was safe.

First things, Merry Christmas! I've got a friend who has a condition that means he can't take anti-coagulants, and he just carries on regardless - he's still with us and determined to stay that way. If you've had an ablation hopefully that will help as well.

Have they done a Chad vasc2 score for you- if they have and you need anti-coagulants are the new ones any safer with ulcers?? Think it's complicated and you need advice on whether risk of ulcer bleeding is higher than risk of no anti coagulant help if your score would mean you need these.
