Has anyone been accepted or declined a CAA or FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate whilst taking Apixiban?

I was told in 1992 I could not have a pilots licence once they diagnosed AF? Things may of changed from the dark days.

Hi Biplane flyer

I'm no expert, but I think it's probably nothing to do with the drugs you are taking but the underlying condition.

The CAA do publish the medical standards here,

caa.co.uk/default.aspx?cati...

2.1 Applicants with significant disturbance of supraventricular rhythm, including sinoatrial dysfunction, whether intermittent or established, may be assessed as fit if cardiological evaluation is satisfactory.

2.2 Applicants with atrial fibrillation/flutter may be assessed as fit if cardiological evaluation is satisfactory.

Sounds like you will need to go through a cardiological evaluation, but Class 2 is for PPL not a commercial license, so I am sure they will be reasonably lenient.

Hope this helps

Ian

This is not the case, if I was taking Warfarin then I would be issued with the certificate.
