Is anyone attending the AF Patients Day at the ICC in Birmingham on October 20th? Perhaps we could meet up?

Where have you been Marilyn ? I have been talking about our Saturday evening supper for a few weeks so now. The Pink Carnation Club (me and a few friends) meet up at Hyatt Regency the night before Saturday 19th for a meal and jolly good chat--.7 for 7.30-- wear a Pink Carnation for ID. I have six confirmed so far with another 4 maybes but the more the merrier. Failing that I will wearing mine all day Sunday so find me.

OK right. I remember reading the stuff about the Hyatt Regency but didn't connect it with the ICC event. Can't make Saturday evening but shall look for the Pink Carnation wearers. Cheers.

I am attending along with another AF sufferer and both our partners - will discuss with them and let you know if we will be able to come.

Thank you for doing that BobD

Hey CDreamer, good to hear from you. Maybe any of us from this site could wear a pink carnation.....better check with BobD though!

OK I'll find a pink carnation, can't say it will go with any of my outfits though.

But what about those rose-pink velvet trousers or the onesie with bunnies on it?? Apologies Ian, I am feeling particularly silly this evening!

OK who told you about the onesie?

My lips are sealed. If I told you I would have to assume a new identity.......preferably one that doesn't acquire AF!

Ah at last some fun banter. More like it! Anybody is welcome to wear a pink carnation if it helps to identify each other. That started about five years ago when I arranged to meet another forum member ans said I would wear one if he carried a folded copy of The TImes. All very James Bond. The next meeting loads of people were wearing them. so we sort of kept it as an AF symbol like yellow ribbons etc. I usually bring a dozen in case people forget..

Yay! It's a great idea! So much more entertaining than those "Alert! Taking anticoagulants" wristbands which I've been identified by recently! I mean, I don't relish the idea of being identified by my disorders. Look forward to meeting you all, with or without onesies x

Yay, good on ya! Thing is the way things are going it's going to be easier to find a onesie than a pink carnation!!

Hang on a minute, the carnation I can cope with, but onesie's...... You honestly don't want to see me in a pink bunny onesie.

Although for the right price (all to the AFA of course) I might be persuaded :)

Hi, I plan to go to Patients Day this year, after missing a couple of years since they moved into the centre of the city. Will try to get a pink carnation and see you all there.
