CBT is congnitive behaviour therapy and they use it for all sorts of things. My daughter was given it for her chronic fatigue syndrome. As far as i can remember ~i thought i t was just common sense in that you tried to do different things, finding out what sort of leverl you could and couldnt do, and then trying to i ncrease slowly. For exambple it was suggested that she tried walking to school one day a week to see how it affected her. Please correct me if i have got it wrong

I read it may help to manage anxiety which I need it these days , I wonder it it is really effective in this regard and may replace the drugs

The NHS web site states that "Cognitive behavioural therapy is a type of talking therapy that can help you to manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave."

Apparently you focus on how you think and feel about the things happening in your life, and how they impact on the way you behave and cope with various problems. You then look at how you can change your negative thoughts and the way you feel.

Sorry folks, but such therapy doesn`t always work - I stil hate spiders - and will continue to squash them with the heaviest thing to hand!!

Yes, it is basically talk therapy. I think it is extremely helpful in times of stress. It can help you to look at problems in different ways, reframe your thinking, and give you strategies to help cope with things that you can't change. Highly recommend.

My daughter in law is a therapist who specializes in kids with anxiety and she basically teaches new coping mechanisms to help with anxious situations. Personally, I would prefer to approach anxiety like this than to take anti anxiety medications if anxiety was making that big an impact in my life. How you think determines how you feel!

Thank you all , I got it now

And I agree with you Langara , and also I using anxiety drugs is last option for me

But usually everyone of us feel better when he talks about his suffering with someone close , it helps to relief the worries inside us

I didn't try it yet , but I feel better after I talk for example with my close sister about my fears and thoughts and sometimes I cry , then I feel a lot better even no solution :)

I think it is applicable to us as ladies more than gents

I believe that all AF sufferers should be treated from anxiety , it helps me to keep my self busy to some extend if possible to stop thinking about my hearts beats
